Relocating Advice

We understand that selling your home is not just an important transaction, but an emotional one, as well.

We take very seriously the responsibility of serving as your Realtor, and will do so with absolute honesty and integrity.

That is the promise of every member of The Monica Betancourt Group at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty.

Relocating Must-Dos (and Don’ts)

Don’t Try to Go It Alone

Relocation is complicated, so you’ll need a partner who will simplify the process for you. A Relocation Specialist manages all the details involved in your move, so you can stay focused on your job and yet be fully confident of having a positive relocation experience for you and your family.

A Relocation Specialist Is Not Only for First-Timers

Even if you’ve bought a home and relocated before, you may find there’s much you’re not familiar with about the process of buying real estate in South Florida. The closing process can be radically different.

For example: Some states use a lawyer to close, others don’t; which closing costs the Buyer or Seller pays varies; earnest money amounts range from 5% to 20% of the purchase price. Of course, international differences can be far more intricate. Your RS will clarify these and various other procedural details, and answer all of your questions.

Do Not Pay for Relocation Services

In South Florida, Buyers do not pay a commission. The Monica Betancourt Group provides relocation advice as part of our concierge service at no cost to you. Should you also need or want another professional, such as an educational consultant, attorney or other service provider, you and that provider will negotiate that fee directly.

Look for Experience

Consider a Relocation Specialist’s years of service and proven ability to manage your personal, individual needs. Relocation is not a “one-size-fits-all” enterprise. Based on an initial assessment conversation, your RS should quickly provide you with a personalized relocation plan that includes advice regarding which professionals you’ll need to make your transition smooth and hassle-free.

Explore Before Putting Down Roots

Unless you’re already intimately familiar with Miami, we recommend taking some time in a short-term (2-6 months) living arrangement before buying a home. There are many very distinct neighborhoods in Miami, with significantly different cultures, schools, medical facilities, commute times, and other features of daily life.

We recommend, and can arrange, your temporary move into the executive short-term rentals in the booming waterfront Brickell neighborhood, adjacent to Downtown.

EWM Realty has been the leading luxury brokerage in South Florida for over a half century. Working with us gives you the security of having the area’s most powerful, ethical, and well-regarded real estate company behind you.
